Well everyone, I'm sure you've noticed now that we at 1001 US haven't been very active lately. We personally feel that it's time for us to step back, and let the scene play it's course. We were exceptionally happy to play our part in the past few years of Portland's success, and we were really happy to be a major driving force in Portland's progression, but in the end you just can't do it all on your own.

We're all still alive, and doing our own things, but as far as 1001 US doing events, we're taking a long vacation, from which we may never return. DJ Owns (the founder and main working force) has returned full time to college along with getting an excellent job. Also, a good portion of the 1001 Untouchable Styles sound system was stolen from our storage unit, making returning an even more difficult task.

Anyways, we enjoyed what we did, and we did a dan good job at it. We're glad you all enjoyed so many of our shows, and we'll be keeping the site up for years to come, to memoralize our accomplishments, and allow those who want to look back a chance to see what we've done.

Who knows though. In the near future we may just come back... and show everyone how it's done... again!

Well, summer's over, but we had our fun. We at 1001 Untouchable Styles decided to play things a bit lowkey, and just relax for the summer. We did sound at a bunch of events, did a few of our own stages at events, but for the most part we laid low.

This winter aught to be different. We're looking to do our usual onslaught of fun events, alongside working with some new and old crew's.

We don't have any major updates right now, but as always we've got tons of music for download, and definitely stay tuned! We'll be bringing you more news about the upcomming 20007-2008 indoor party season SOON!

That's right everyone, summer is here and we're fixing to tear the roof off of Portland like 1001 always does! To start things off right we've switched webhosting and have FAR more space now to host mixes. Because of this we've uploaded all of the old mixes and radioshows we had hosted on 1001US, and we even put up some new ones. We're at a wopping 36 mixes available for download now, so be sure to check out our AUDIO section!

So, now that we brought back the old, it's time to let you know about the new, and we at 1001 got a ton of new stuff for you this summer!

First up is DJ OWNS mix CD, The Statement. He was fixing to release it in March, but due to some unforseen issues he had to push the date on it back. Anywys, it's available now for download HERE!

Next up, we've got DJ ANTICS, and an old member of 1001, Grey Matter, tearing it up with a new mix. They're currently traveling under the moniker "The Lost Boys" and it's definitely a bad ass mix not to be missed! You'll definitely want to download this mix CD, and it's available for download, HERE!

Next up, we've got a slew of bad ass events where you can catch the 1001 DJ's tearing it up this summer. We'll be placing more direct information regarding all of these events here soon, but until then here's the jist of what we're doing:

So those are our summer plans! We were one of the most prominent crews in Portland this past winter season, we've been holding our own damn strong for the past few years, and we're going to rock on top for yet another season this summer! Allright everyone out there in internet wonder land, we're long overdue for an update. The first thing we gotta do is clear something up that has become a bit of a misconception...

We're not the place for directions to other crews events. We post directions to our own events, but if you're coming here looking for direction to an event hosted by another crew, you won't find them here! Now, we don't mind you coming and looking at our webpage at all. Infact, we love having you guys stop by. If you're in the area you might as well grab a few of our free MIX CD's while you're at it.


As for what we at 1001 are doing... well we had an insane winter! We hosted a bad ass event every single month for the entire winter season, and now that spring has come, we're taking a short break. Over the past few years this time has always been a time during which the scene slows down a bit, and we like to use this as a short break before we get into the summer madness!

Now, if you're new to the whole rave stuff, or even the Portland scene, then you definitely need to keep checking back for more information regarding the summer events we do! While Portland may not be a huge rave-opolis like Los Angeles, there is one thing we do that every other city out there is jealous of, and it's our outdoor events! You definitely won't want to miss out on these, as they're a truely unique and enjoyable experience you won't be able to get anywhere else!

Well we accomplished what we set out to do this winter, and that was host an event almost every month of the indoor season. We were involved in a large amount of events, and hosted succesfull all ages shows in September, October, November, December (TWO), January, February, and March! We've been working our asses off this winter to bring fun and enjoyable one for everyone whom likes the music as much as we do, and we brought a lot to the table here in PDX!

For those of you whom came out to THE BIG BREAKFEST 2, we got to run out full sound system for the first time in a while. We've been working with a variety of venues this winter, and unlike last year, there just wasn't the calling for our full sound. However, for this show we belted 20,000 watts of pure power, and really destroyed the place with BASS! We also got to run all four of our dual 15"s biamped, which is a project Owns had completed a year ago, but hasn't had a venue to test everything in post construction/modification of the cabinets.

Anyways, we're glad to have had you all at our events this winter. We've done a lot for the 2006-2007 indoor season, and we're glad to have had such success. We're going to be slowing down a bit, and probably only doing one more indoor event before the coming outdoor season.

For those of you not familiar with the outdoor season, we shift gears a little bit. We go out into the woods, and change the entire structure. The events are free, and the stress of the average high budget event isn't there. It's just a small sound system, a bunch of friends, and some really awesome spots in the oregon outdoors. The need for ridiculously large sound systems isn't there, the constraints of being surrounded by people with different beliefs are gone, and it's also an amazing opportunity for a lot of up and comming DJ's to get out there and play for the crowd, when typically budgetting and plannin wouldn't allow for them.


We're not currently planning for the outdoor season. It's silly, as who ever know's with Oregon's weather. Once we see where it's all going, we'll be posting here along with all the other typical communication channels (myspace, etc). Definitely keep your eyes peeled for the upcomming shows this summer. If you've never experienced an Oregon outdoor event, you're missing out on a one of a kind experience.

Definitely check back here the day of the event as we'll be using a bad ass venue that the Portland electronic music scene has NEVER EVER used before, that is friggen amazing! We'll also be combing the 1001 sound system with the geeks over at SIT N SPIN, to blow the venue up proper. We'll have a total of 12x 18" subwoofers destroying the place, and we'll be deliveirng well over 15,000 watts of bass ALONE.

WOW that event was packed! Well, we did it again and brought PDX a large event with exceptionally talented headliners! We're amazed at just how big the turnout, and we were happy to hear from the party kids that we have such a devote following now!

We really enjoyed the event, a lot of people seemed to enjoy the event as well, and that is a good sign! Now, we do realize we're beggining to encounter some issues that happen when you bring large amounts of different people into a venue, and we're working to expand and yet keep the vibe that brought us this far!

WOW!

Stand tall 2 was a friggen amazing success, and there were TONS of people there! That was one of the most packed events PDX has ever had! Everyone came outa nd rocked out to the amazing talent that PDX has as well! We're DAMN proud to be able to support Portland the way it was meant to be.

Some people were confused about the events intentions, and I just want to set something straight: This event wasn't about PDX being superior to any other city or place, it was about PDX not being INFERIOR. In the past PDX locals were viewed as inferior, and that my friends, has obviously changed!

Our next big event is...
HEART BREAK 2

We went ahead and made a few alterations to the plans for Stand Tall 2. We've now got a bar in store, and still have the main area of our event available to those of any age! We got a really nice venue in store for you all, and we'll be posting directions to it the day of right here on our webpage! Make sure you refresh using (ctrl+f5) if you come back the day of, and if it's not up yet, be patient! We have to re-upload the information AND setup the event so sometimes we run a little bit behind!

The event starts at 9pm and the price is $10
At 11pm the door price changes to $15 So be there early!

Well, 2007 is almost here, and it's been a great year for 1001! Some one once told me, with the utmost sincerity, that you simply can't make everyone happy. While we surely haven't made everyone happy, we've done our damndest and came out on top for it all! We went from barely owning a sound system, to owning one of PDX's premier sound systems. We went from three shows as eason to doing one every other month, and having our crew involved in 90% of the shows going on. We've worked hard, and we're all very thankful for the support you've showed us.

2007 should be a good winter. We've got more events coming up, lots of bookings for our DJ's, and as our events keep doing well, we can give more back to you! Don't believe us? We throw free events, and help porivde the nescessary tools for free events all summer. We've been able to bring our prices down, thanks to a combination of never having to rent sound, and the long term business relationships we've been able to make.

We really appreciate all the support you've showed us, and we hope to keep sharing the good times with you all! People will say a lot of things about us, but actions speak louder than words.

We hope to see you all at our January 12th Show, STAND TALL 2. This event means a lot to us, and stands for a lot of how we operate at 1001. We're about Portland, and the people we are with every weekend. Some people (whom coincidnetally try and badmouth our every action) will try and say that we're badmouthing people from out of state, but thats hardly the case. In years past in Portland we pawned off the respect of the music community to people from far away, and when things got thin, and those out of state DJ's got big heads that didn't work with our budgets, the scene collapsed.


This is a PDX event truely about PDX.

Hey everyone, THE NIGHT THE BASS STOLE CHRISTMAS went really well! Lots of people came out, CATACOMB loved playing in PDX, and everyone had a great time. Despite the morons at the very very end kind of souring things up a bit, everything went pretty damn well. We're glad to have brought you yet another awesome time out on the town!

We've got more in store for you guys this winter, as we've promised to provide a show every single month for all of the winter season, and we're involved in damn near every other show that isn't ours. The next big show for everyone to be looking out for from us is:

Well, we don't know whats up with other promoters lately in Portland. With all the cancelations and even shut downs,i t seems some kids just can't hang! 1001 though, has got what you want! That's hot beats, at an affordable price, and a vibe so thick you could almost bottle it! Anyways, have no fear, our december 15th show is confirmed and DEFINITELY going to happen! We got the paper work signed with the venue, deposit paid, headliners plane tickets purchased, and all is a go. This is also just a $10 show! You guys are in for some fun times!

We've made some additions to the crew, along with the website. We added a bad ass DJ, SOUND CELL. He played at our Turkeys Gone Wild event, and tore the place up hardcore! We've known of him for a while, and we finally got around to bringing him onboard. Check out his debut CD on our crew, MANUFACTURED CHAOS in the new audio bar on the left of the page. We've got plans for our January show "STAND TALL 2" underway. Look for the fliers for that event at our december 15th show. Stand Tall is an annual event about setting the record straight, which is that PDX has some of the sickest talent out there, and we're to be respectd! PDX and the 503 in the place!

A new venue is confirmed, sound is lined up, and the entire event is a GO! This weekend is still going to be a friggen blast, and we're looking forward to getting down with all of you!
